All cases are constructed of baltic birch plywood to which matte finish high pressure
laminate is adhered. Most available colors are the same price. All cases are available in
1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" thickness and assembled to ATA specifications. Steel rivets are
used at critical stress and load bearing points to ensure strength. Steel backing washers
are used where necessary such as handles and latches. Corner clamp steel rivets pass
entirely through the case through the inner wall of the double wall corner extrusion.
This creates an incredibly strong corner joint where the valance is mitered. All rivets
used to join panels and double wall corner are alloy, specially designed to grip in wood.
5/16" bolts are used to attach casters. A lot of companies use cheap 1/4" bolts, usually
carriage bolts. The bolts used on Magnum cases are quality serrated flange bolts.
Several longer flange bolts pass all the way through the casterboard, through the case
into a special tee nut that is mounted to the inside of the case with screws. Should a
bolt ever work loose or break it is easily replaced. Worn casters are easily replaced in
the field as well. All foams used are of 2lb density with the exception of eggcrate foam.
Doghouses in console cases are not mechanically attached to the case. They float on
foam all the way around and in fact can be taken out of the case very easily.
Options include locking latches - both padlock and key, locking
casters, quick release caster plates, swing-open doors in place of
standard covers, slam latch covers, stacking cups, stacking
corners, custom graphics, and custom I/O and AC panel work. If
you need something not mentioned, just ask.
